Costly Compromise
The Bible is the most printed and read book in human history. For Christians, the Bible is the source for knowing who God is and understanding our world, it is the very Word of God. Dr Eric Tully will join us on February 27 to address questions about the Bible as God's Word. Can we count on God speaking to us? What gives us confidence in the Bible? Is it really authoritative? Dr. Tully will give presentations. This first lecture is Costly Compromise out of Deuteronomy 18:9-22.
Eric Tully is Professor of Old Testament at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois and Director of the PhD program (Theological Studies). He grew up in Zaire, Africa (now the Democratic Republic of the Congo) as the child of missionaries. He earned his B.A. from Moody Bible Institute, an MDiv from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and an MA and PhD in Northwest Semitic languages from the University of Wisconsin. His particular areas of interest include the Old Testament prophets, Hebrew language and linguistics, and textual criticism. He, his wife Traci, and their daughters Lauren and Kate are members of Christ the King Church (EFCA) in Kenosha, WI, where Eric preaches occasionally and served as an elder for six years.
